Cave Kayak Tour

Guided Cave Point Kayak Tour

This kayak tour sets off to see a few of our many precious gems of Door County. You will experience thousand year old caves, ancient fossils and a view of Whitefish Dunes State Park.

What to expect:

No experience is necessary and Red Cross-trained instruction is provided.  After an introductory lesson and a launch from a location north of Cave Point at Schauer Park, we follow the coast until we reach the shores of Cave Point County Park, where we creep along listening to the wonderful sound of the water and enjoying the view of cave point. We then explore the coves and caves with our kayaks and finally head towards Whitefish Bay Dunes State Park. At this point, we will turn around and return to our launch location or head to the take out point at the Whitefish Bay Town boat launch (dependent on the wind). The caves are not viewable from the land.  You will be one of the lucky few to observe this coastline from from a kayak.

Our guides do their best to choose the safest and most enjoyable tour possible for the conditions. On average, we can go to cave point 80% of the time.  Please choose a day early in your vacation week and early in the day (8 AM, 9 AM, & 10 AM have the calmest, most relaxing ride).

Cancellation Policy: If the conditions are not favorable for the cave tour, you have 2 options; (1) Reschedule for another time (within 3-5 days), (2) Join another tour at that time if available and if conditions are safe (i.e. wetlands, bluff or paddleboard) If there is lightning/thunder in the air, we do our best to reschedule everyone, if you are not able to reschedule, you will receive a full refund. We highly recommend you reserve early in your vacation time to allow for a reschedule.

As we use sit on top tandem kayaks, our tours are great for kids ages 5+ and beginner paddlers as long as it is calm! If you have no experience and want to gain some, we recommend joining our Wetlands/Estuary Kayak Tour before you embark on our Cave Kayak Tour.
